THE DEAL SAILS IN SAN FRANCISCO
October 2, 2000--San Francisco, Calif.--To kick off of its marketing campaign on the West Coast, The Deal, a media company providing news to dealmakers around the globe, painted San Francisco Bay "red" this week with fiery-hued sails aboard an 80-foot racing yacht, (one that actually competed in the Americas Cup under the New Zealand flag).
The hull supports the The Deal's new tagline "Welcome to the Deal Economy," also seen in print and out-of-home advertisements in major markets, while the sails display the new corporate logo with its media products, The Daily Deal and TheDeal.com, printed underneath.
A sailboat is not the only floating signage The Deal has cruising San Francisco's waterways: the company also commissioned a billboard that is erected on a large barge. The campaign was created by ad agency M&C Saatchi New York: Executive Creative Director: Marty Cooke; Art director: Mark Driscoll; Copywriter: Jamie Howard
