THE DAILY DEAL REVEALS THE CORPORATE EXECUTIVES CRAFTING DEALS IN ITS SPECIAL REPORT: THE CORPORATE DEALMAKER
June 25, 2002--New York, N.Y.--The Daily Deal (www.thedeal.com) today presents profiles of senior executives at deal-intensive companies who are charged with orchestrating M&A transactions in Special Report: The Corporate Dealmaker.
The Daily Deal's editors selected seven individuals from a wide array of U.S. companies who structure deals on behalf of their organizations. The main criterion for the selection process: the execution of their companies' committed M&A-based growth strategy.
In the introduction, senior writer Matt Miller writes, "About a year ago, The Daily Deal inaugurated a series of profiles on corporate dealmakers. We sought to identify those individuals within acquisitive companies who were responsible for the conception and execution of deals. They didn't have to be CEOs, although some chief executives turned out to be truly hands-on. In the weeks and months since, we have offered dozens of resumés. A few are high-profile names, but most are relatively anonymous. Some are CFOs or general counsels. Others run business development. Still others wear the title vice president, mergers and acquisitions."
The corporate dealmaking leaders who are the subjects of the seven profiles that grace the first-ever edition of Special Report: The Corporate Dealmaker are: • Robert Willumstad, president of Citibank, by David Weidner • Indra Nooyi, president of Pepsi, by Matt Miller • Scott Ford, COO of Alltel, by Leon Lazaroff • Richard Emerson, head of corporate development of Microsoft, by Brenon Daly • Barbara Jeremiah, vice president for corporate development of Alcoa, by Tara Croft • Dennis Weldon, head of M&A, Mentor Graphics Corporation, Olaf de Senerpont Domis • Henry Silverman, CEO of Cendant, by Katie Anderson
The Daily Deal also features in-depth coverage of executives leading and devising dealmaking strategies for their corporations every Tuesday in the paper's weekly section, "Corporate Tuesday." Additional coverage of companies' dealmaking activity and the dealmakers behind it can be found in Corporate Channel of newly redesigned TheDeal.com.
