Hugh Ray of Andrews & Kurth LLP spoke with The Deal at the 2008 Distressed Investing conference, Las Vegas, about what is on the horizon for companies that will have to be restructured in 2008.
Ray is expecting a real boom in reorganization investing as the default rate has increased five-fold last year. It is not just the sub-prime loans causing problems but "an overabundance of credit extension" that is coming back to bite lenders now, Ray says.
