Ira Teinowitz is a senior reporter based in Washington covering Congress, regulatory agencies and issues related to financial reform and M&A.

Before joining The Deal LLC, Ira wrote for online and print publications including TheWrap.com—AOL’s WalletPop consumer news service—and Direct Marketing News, which covers direct marketing. He also spent more than 20 years at Advertising Age, where as a correspondent he directed its Washington coverage, reporting on regulatory and legal issues and a broad range of consumer and B2B subjects in Congress, at federal regulatory agencies and at the White House. Before that Ira was the Washington bureau chief at TVWeek and a reporter in the Chicago bureau of the Associated Press. He has also appeared as a political and marketing expert on CNN, NPR, C-Span and CNBC.
