Jonathan Braude is a senior writer, columnist and correspondent for The Deal LLC’s London bureau, where he covers M&A and private equity. Most recently, he has provided extensive coverage of British and Irish banks in the wake of the financial crisis. Before his London post, Jonathan was based in Berlin as The Deal’s Germany, Switzerland and Austria correspondent. He has also written a weekly European business and economic column for Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post and reported for Voice of America.

Before joining The Deal LLC, Jonathan was a writer, political reporter and columnist for the South China Morning Post, and before that he worked in Brussels, covering the European Union and NATO. Jonathan has written for a number of print and broadcasting outlets including the BBC, The Times of London and Jane's Defence Weekly. He has also worked as a reporter and German and French translator for Agra Europe, a specialist European agribusiness publication.
