Jonathan Braude is a senior writer in The Deal's London bureau, where he covers M&A and private equity. Most recently, Jonathan has provided extensive coverage of the British and Irish banks in the wake of the financial crisis. Before his London post, Jonathan was based in Berlin as The Deal's Germany, Switzerland and Austria correspondent.

Prior to joining The Deal, Jonathan was a writer, political reporter and columnist for the South China Morning Post, and before that he worked in Brussels, covering the European Union and NATO. Jonathan has written for a number of print and broadcasting outlets including BBC, The Times of London and Jane's Defense Weekly. He has also worked as a reporter and German and French translator for Agra Europe, a specialist European agribusiness publication.
