Lou Whiteman

Lou Whiteman has covered industrials and transportation for The Deal LLC for more than a decade, developing an extensive list of contacts including industry leaders, consultants, regulators and labor representatives. Lou has reported on negotiations between major airlines ahead of deal announcements, identified takeout targets in aerospace prior to auctions being made public, participated in briefings with regulators and airline CEOs, and reported on many discussions prior to them becoming public. In earlier assignments, Lou focused on technology startups and venture capital.

Prior to joining The Deal, he covered community and regional banks for American Banker and was also a reporter for the Baltimore Business Journal. Lou has appeared on numerous television and radio outlets, including Fox Business and National Public Radio.
