No double-dip recession, predicts Adam Posen

by Katie Roof  |  Published October 27, 2011 at 4:00 AM

"Given the policy measures we've undertaken ... we're going to avoid a double-dip recession," predicts Adam Posen, Monetary Policy Committee member of the Bank of England. "We're on the next leg down of the W," Posen says of the trajectory of the world economy. A strong supporter of quantitative easing, Posen feels that "things would be much worse than they otherwise have been if we hadn't done the previous round." He adds that it would help to "keep up this kind of loose policy" for "another couple years."  - Katie Roof
