Wilmington-based electronic textile producer Textronics Inc. named Christopher DeFusco vice president of marketing and business development. Most recently, he served as a board member, vice president and general manager in charge of U.S. operations for BTG International Inc., a London-based technology commercialization company. DeFusco is also active in the Licensing Executive Society.
Athena Design Systems Inc., which designs tools to deal with physical implementation challenges of complex nanometer chip design, hired James Reichmuth as vice president of worldwide sales and business development. Reichmuth, who will help the startup to introduce its first products, joins the firm in Silicon Valley from Cadence Design Systems Inc., where he was most recently a global account manager for one the world's largest chip companies.
Andre Boisvert was elected chairman of the board and chief business development officer at Compiere Inc., a provider of open source business management software. He started his career with IBM Corp. in 1976 and held senior management positions in sales, marketing and R&D. In 2000, Boisvert became president and COO of SAS Institute Inc., the world's largest privately-held software company.
He will help develop the global Compiere partner network, which consists of more than 70 consulting firms, systems integrators, application solution providers, and value-added resellers that provide consulting, implementation and customization services to Compiere end users.
