Larry Shupnick was named senior vice president of development and acquisitions at Arlington, Va.-based Interstate Hotels & Resorts Inc. Shupnick previously served as SVP of development and acquisitions for MeriStar Hospitality Corp., a real estate investment trust, which was recently acquired by Blackstone Group. Shupnick first joined Interstate in 1990, when he merged his company, Laral Hotels, with CapStar Hotel Co., an Interstate predecessor company.
Defense contractor CACI International Inc. appointed Ralph Tuccillo as senior vice president of strategic planning and business development for the mission systems business group, where he will handle planning for the development of both new and current business. Tuccillo had a 30-year career in the U.S. Army supporting logistics and information technology, and has eight years of business development experience in the private sector. He most recently worked in Computer Sciences Corp.'s federal sector, where he led the team that won the U.S. Strategic Command IT Capabilities Contract (ITCC) to provide LAN and desktop engineering, operations and support services for over 6000 terminals.
Charles White joined Nereus Pharmaceuticals Inc. as chief business officer, focusing on negotiating partnerships and licensing agreements with pharmaceutical, biotech and academic collaborators. White was previously VP of biotechnology business development at Organon, the pharmaceutical business unit of Akzo Nobel NV. Nereus participates in drug discovery and development from marine microbial sources.
