California techs feature in CD Movers

THQ Inc. promoted Timothy Campbell to vice president of business development. Campbell will continue to build publishing relationships with independent development teams and expand THQ's worldwide internal studio system. Campbell joined Los Angeles-based THQ, a worldwide developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software, in 2004 as director of business development.

MAP Pharmaceuticals Inc., a developer of novel drug therapies, appointed Tassos Gianakakos as senior vice president of corporate and business development. He will oversee all the firm's corp dev activities. Gianakakos joined the Mountain View, Calif. company from Codexis Inc., a private company he helped spin-off from Maxygen in 2001.

In San Diego, Jim Benefer was elected as Quorum Systems Inc.'s senior vice president of marketing and business development, focusing on expanding the fabless semiconductor firm's partners and customer base. Previously, Benefer was director of product marketing for GCT Semiconductor Inc., responsible for mobile multi-mode products. Before GCT, he managed Bluetooth at National Semiconductor Corp., and worked at Rockwell International Corp. and LSI Logic Corp. — Baz Hiralal
