Moves at Viacom, Sara Lee, Monster and more

New York's Viacom Inc. hired Wade Davis as senior vice president of strategy, mergers and acquisitions. Davis, who was formerly SVP of M&A for Viacom, assumes the additional duties of strategic planning and business development, which were previously directed by Bob Bakish. Bakish was recently appointed president of Viacom's MTV Networks International unit.
Prior to Viacom, Davis was a managing director, co-head of investment banking and head of M&A at ThinkEquity Partners LLC. Before that, he worked at Lazard and was one of the founding members of Wasserstein Perella & Co.'s technology M&A group in San Francisco.


Tom Hansson joined Sara Lee Corp. as senior vice president of strategy and corporate development. Hansson joins Sara Lee from Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., where he was a U.S.-based lead partner in the strategic leadership practice. He started his career with Boston Consulting Group, based in the U.K. and Germany.


Monster Worldwide Inc., headquartered in New York, tapped Alice Wang as senior vice president of corporate development. Wang comes to Monster after serving three years as VP of corporate development and treasurer at Knight Ridder Inc., where she was responsible for M&A, as well as treasury oversight. Most recently, she served as the executive team leader responsible for managing the $6.5 billion sale of Knight Ridder to McClatchy Co., announced in March.
Wang will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and coordinating strategic partnerships, alliances and acquisitions for Monster Worldwide on a global scale.


Eric Anderson has taken up a post as vice president of business development at Handango Inc., a provider of smartphone content. He is responsible for building new sales channels, managing strategic relationships and developing a plan for working with the Hurst, Texas firm's partners to capitalize on the growth in the smartphone market. Anderson was vice president of strategic sales and marketing at Ericsson AB and has worked at Accenture.


Marriott International Inc. brought in W. David Mann as senior vice president and associate general counsel of corporate transactions, finance and governance. Mann will oversee the legal aspects of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and securities work for Marriott.
Since 2001, Mann has served as deputy general counsel and corporate secretary for Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marriot. Mann joined Washington-based Marriott in 1995 as a finance attorney in the corporate affairs practice group of the law department.
