Viacom Inc. is selling its worldwide music publishing division, Famous Music, for $400 million, including $30 million in debt. The division is being acquired by a joint venture set up 12 years ago by Sony Corp. and Michael Jackson: Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Famous has a catalog of over 125,000 songs, including many from hit TV shows and movies. The firm also provides licensing and administrative services for catalog owners including CBS-TV, MTV and VH1, just to name a few. Included in its enviable catalog are film scores from "The Godfather," "Braveheart," "Titanic" and "Psycho."
