A group of dealmakers from the corporate, private equity and legal worlds will explore the current M&A market in a panel titled "A New Financial Landscape: Strategic, Private Equity & Hedge Funds" at the CD Forum this Tuesday, Oct. 2, in New York.

Panelists Charles Simmons, VP of corporate development for Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., Mike Bingle, managing director with Silver Lake, and James B. Carlson, a partner with Mayer Brown LLP, will discuss whether the recent deal environment ushers in fundamental changes in the dynamics of the M&A market or is just a more standard market cycle. They'll also discuss the effect of high leverage on the ability of LBO'd firms to acquire and the impact on corporate governance of greater private equity dealflow and activist shareholders. — Michael Frankel

Michael Frankel, SVP of corporate development and strategy for Information Resources Inc. and a member of Corporate Dealmaker's advisory board, will moderate the panel.
