Time Warner Inc.'s Warner Bros. Entertainment is co-financing a billion dollar venture with state-controlled Aldar Properties in the United Arab Emirates to create a theme park and hotel. The deal also calls for a pact with Abu Dhabi Media Co., in which the two firms will inject $250 million each into a video game and film fund. Aldar CEO Ronald Barrott anticipates the transactions will be worth billions and will expand beyond the UAE borders.

The firms expect to start construction of the theme park in 2009.
