The race to capture market share in the hyper-competitive telecom space has been a boon to Ixia, a provider of performance test systems, so much so that the company has made space for a full-time dealmaker in its executive suite.
Maik Lankau has joined the Calabasas, Calif-based company as vice president, business development and global alliances and will be responsible for M&A, partnerships, joint ventures and licensing agreements.
Ixia's triple-play test systems allow service providers to test performance and reliability of the ubiquitous voice, video and data products being heavily marketed by the big telecom service providers. The company's testing products are also used by network and telephony equipment makers, semiconductor manufacturers, governments and other enterprises to test Internet-protocol-based networks and applications. -
