lawee.jpgAs we noted on Wednesday, former Canadian Telecom BEC Inc. president of operations Patrick Pinchette has taken over as CFO at Google Inc. The search giant spent nearly a year looking for a top finance executive, and on Friday, Fortune reported on what a good fit Pinchette is for the role as Google pushes into mobile communications.

That move into mobile could be driven by M&A, and Pinchette will likely work closely with Google's  David Lawee, (pictured) to formulate strategy and pursue deals. Lawee was promoted from vice president of marketing to head of corporate development in February. Lawee is responsible for all the company's acquisitions and investments.

It will be interesting to see what these two execs come up with -- in the mobile space and beyond. - Suzanne Stevens
