EllenDeSanctisBig.pngHouston-based Rosetta Resources Inc. will bring in Ellen DeSanctis as executive vice president of strategy and development. DeSanctis will arrive at the independent oil and gas company on Sept. 29 to handle Rosetta's strategic planning, business development and corporate giving programs.

Before spending a couple of years as an independent consultant, DeSanctis was at Burlington Resources, most recently as VP of corporate communications and strategic planning. Prior to joining Burlington in 2000, she worked at Vastar Resources Inc., responsible for investor relations, corporate communications and business analysis and budgeting. Earlier, DeSanctis was with Atlantic Richfield Co. and began her career with Shell Oil Co. in technical operations positions.

Rosetta acquires, explores, develops and produces oil and gas properties in North America. An offshoot of bankrupt Calpine Corp., the company is involved in a dispute over the $1.05 billion purchase of Calpine's oil and gas business. The litigation continues Tuesday. - Baz Hiralal
