KatherineWolfPost.pngKatherine Wolf is trading i-banking for corporate development. The former managing director of HSBC Holdings plc's investment banking arm has joined Vision-Sciences Inc. as executive vice president of corporate development and chief financial officer. Wolf co-founded HSBC's healthcare group and led the global medical technology effort, including origination and execution of M&A. Wolf previously was a managing director with Bear Stearns & Co.

Vision-Sciences develops, manufactures and markets endoscopic products. The company hasn't been particularly acquisitive. A quick scan of press releases on its Web site shows a couple of deals in 2007, the most significant being the sale of assets used to manufacture Vision-Sciences ear, nose and throat endoscopes to a subsidiary of Medtronic Inc. The deal included an exclusive license that allows Medtronic to make and sell Vision-Sciences products worldwide. - Suzanne Stevens
