USIS.jpegEmployment screening, background check and security service provider USIS appears primed for growth. The company, whose customers include private-sector firms and local and federal government agencies, has hired Michael Beber as senior vice president of growth and innovation. Beber joins from the middle market private equity firm MidOcean Partners, where he focused on the business processing and professional services sectors. He also previously was the chief strategic development officer for risk management and strategy consultant Marsh & McLennan Companies.

Beber's appointment follows the October promotion of Michael Santelli to VP of strategy and corporate development for USIS' government services group. The promotion was part of a government group restructuring aimed at expanding the business through new contracts and acquisitions.

USIS greatly expanded its commercial services business with the $249 million acquisition in August of employment background and drug screening solutions provider HireRight Inc. - Suzanne Stevens
