workforce_software.jpegWorkForce Software Inc. has hired a former Hewitt Associates Inc. corporate development executive to help grow its human capital management business. Carl Herzog has joined WorkForce Software as vice president of business development and will work to identify new growth markets, business opportunities and strategic partners. As a corp dev executive at the human resources consulting and outsourcing firm Hewitt, Herzog was involved in M&A, joint venture and alliance activity.

WorkForce Software offers a suite of products that help clients automate and manage payroll and other HR-related interactions between employers and employees. The software-as-a-service space is a bright spot in the technology sector, and WorkForce Software saw revenue increase 52% in the quarter ended Sept. 30.

The company depends on technology alliances that allow its products to be integrated with other employee management solutions. Herzog's hire is an indication that WorkForce Software is looking to expand its alliance portfolio. - Suzanne Stevens
