
Former investment banker Milan Shah
has joined Albemarle Corp. as vice president of business development. In his new role, Shah will oversee strategic alliances, joint ventures and M&A at the specialty chemicals company. He previously was an senior i-banker in Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. chemical investment banking group, where he worked with Albermarle and other clients on M&A and strategy development.
Albemarle has made a couple of deals in 2008,
acquiring Sorbent Technologies Corp. in August, and buying out its partner in an
antioxidant joint venture in China. The company has also raised prices on many products to offset the escalating cost of raw material, energy, freight and logistics. -
