Harris Williams & Co. co-founders
Hiter Harris and
Chris Williams donned their business casual wear for a talk about what's coming for
mergers and acquisitions in 2009. They say while pockets of debt capital are still available for small and mid-size deals, all who touch middle-market M&A - be it investment bankers, lenders, lawyers or private equity firms - have felt the effects. Harris and Williams opine on the transportation and logistics, healthcare, technology, and energy and power sectors.
They noted infrastructure-related companies that focus on roads and bridges will likely get a boost from new investment under the Barack Obama administration and that energy and power will get a boost from Obama as well. The president-elect received
praise from T. Boone Pickens on nominating Steven Chu and Carol Browner for his energy and environmental team. -
