kim,alice125x100.jpgFLO TV Inc. has hired digital media veteran Alice Kim as its senior vice president of strategy and corporate development. In the newly created role, Kim will oversee strategy development for the mobile TV service provider, playing a leading role in developing relationships with content providers.

Kim knows FLO TV well. She joins from MTV Networks, a key FLO TV content partner. Kim was VP of digital distribution for MTV, which involved developing strategy and building revenue across 17 brands, including MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.

FLO TV is a subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM), one of several power players trying to capitalize on the promise of mobile television. Given the results of a recent Nielsen Co.  survey, that's no surprise. According to Nielsen's Three Screen Report, via this TVB article, mobile video viewing was up 70% in the second quarter from the same period in 2008. - Suzanne Stevens
