Healthcare Insight has hired Larry Schor as its corporate development officer. Schor will lead strategic planning and oversee growth initiatives, including M&A and alliances.

HCI, a division of Verisk Healthcare Inc., provides fraud prevention claims processing software and services to insurers, health plans, managed-care organizations, Medicaid and Medicare. With waste reduction and fraud prevention high on President Obama's healthcare reform agenda, there's reason to believe the sector is primed for growth.

Schor brings finance and healthcare informatics expertise to HCI. He joins from the healthcare investment bank Ansley Capital Group, where he spent nine years. He previously held executive positions at healthcare benefit and technology startups including PerfectServe, Helus Inc. and CoreSource Inc.

Partnerships will likely be a priority for Schor. HCI in October aligned with Biologics Inc. to launch a prepayment service to help payors manage costs related to oncology care. - Suzanne Stevens
