Aqua America Inc., a publicly traded water and wastewater utility holding company, has completed nearly 200 acquisitions and growth ventures in the last decade. By nearly any measure - qualifications needed, compensation issues, likely career path - a job in corporate development is different from other corporate gigs. There are good reasons for that.
