It's normal that when two firm's decide to team up via joint venture they may have to build a manufacturing plant or synchronize operations. What's atypical is setting up a vertical countrywide infrastructure by teaming with governments and numerous companies in numerous industries. That's what's required for the electric vehicle JV between Nissan Motor and Renault.
