Jon Anda has re-enlisted at Morgan Stanley as vice chairman of institutional securities.
Anda, who first joined the firm 20 years ago, returned after riding a wave of mass defection at Morgan. From 1999 to 2003, Anda was global head of equity capital markets and co-head of global capital markets after the firm's debt and equity issuance businesses merged in 2002.
During the battle between Phil Purcell and Mack, Anda was named global head of corporate finance and head of investment banking in Asia. While Walid Chammah was named head of investment banking, Mack returned Anda to his old role as co-head of global capital markets.
Anda, 49, had left to join fellow defectors Joseph Perella and Terry Meguid at their new boutique, which should make its debut soon. Anda has been behind some of the most notable IPOs in recent history, including:
Anda's return is a big stabilizing factor for Morgan Stanley. While the firm hasn't quite caught the Gold mine, it'll be interesting to see how some of these working relationships work out.
