Pac-Man drops Neurocrine, could Sepracor be near?

  Share     E-Mail    Discussion    Print Story

Pac-Man.gifPfizer, the Pac-Man of the pharmaceutical industry, has ended its partnership with San Diego biotech Neurocrine to develop and market the smaller company's insomnia treatment Indiplon. The news comes only days after CNN Money first suggested that Sepracor could be in play, and that Pfizer was one of the bidders. Sepracor's leading product is Lunesta, a sleep aid already on the market. Of course Pfizer hasn't responded to the Sepracor rumors. In the case of the Neurocrine partnership, the pharma blames delays in FDA approval of Indiplon. —Matthew Wurtzel
