Ron Perelman's blast

  Share     E-Mail    Discussion    Print Story

Monday morning, Revlon Chairman Ron Perelman was blasted by a surprise bigger than the New York-based cosmetics company's earnings: a gas-line explosion. Evidently, Perelman's personal office — not the Revlon headquarters — was on the same block as the Upper Eastside townhouse that was destroyed allegedly by its owner, who may have been tampering with its natural gas line in an attempt to commit suicide, according to the New York Post. Neither Perelman, nor any of his office staff, was injured, but the facade of his office was. Of course, the blast could explain why Perelman was not present when the company announced its $95 million loss.—Matthew Wurtzel
