Japanese automaker Honda Motor Co. is introducing a light passenger jet that it has dubbed the Civic of the sky. Unlike competing light planes from Textron Inc.'s Cessna unit, the plane simply called the HondaJet is far more fuel efficient and cheaper — the two main attractions to Honda's best selling compact sedan. Like its Odyssey minivan, the HondaJet will seat seven including a pilot, but unlike the Odyssey, the plane is expected to be able to travel over 1,000 miles before needing a refueling. The company expects to take orders later this year as the Federal Aviation Administration tests the plane's prototypes. The company expects to deliver the first HondaJets, which may be produced here in America, in the next four years. Don't be surprised to see "green" venture capitalist John Doerr jetting around the country in one. —Matthew Wurtzel
