The heir to the Coors brewing empire, Peter Coors, has lost another election. Of course, losing his seat on the board of H.J. Heinz to activist investor Nelson Peltz is not nearly as bad as his 2004 loss for a Colorado U.S. Senate seat, but it still has got to leave a scar on his ego. Nonetheless, Coors will remain the vice chairman of Molson Coors Brewing Co., unless, of course, he loses another election. As for Peltz, he didn't exactly get everything he wanted. Instead of securing five seats on the food company's 12-person board, he only won two. Joining Peltz as a representative for his investment firm Trian Group is Michael Weinstein, the one-time CEO of Snapple. By the way, Coors isn't the only Heinz board member to harbor political aspirations. Former NFL star Lynn Swann remains on the board, despite his Republican campaign for governor of Pennsylvania. —Matthew Wurtzel
