So Carolyn Kepcher of "The Apprentice" fame wasn't the only person getting the ax on Wednesday. Five editors of the Village Voice also were cut in the name of post-merger integration, according to the New York Post. The venerable alternative weekly newspaper that essentially created the niche was bought last year by Phoenix-based New Times Media, which publishes papers under the New Times and other mastheads. Although the two companies publish alternative papers, they are vastly different. The Voice is known for its extremely liberal political views, while New Media is less political and more about investigative reporting. Obviously, the new taskmasters at the combined company, which is now known as Village Voice Media, are purging the staff to remake the Voice in its image. To find out who was cut, see the story from The Post. —Matthew Wurtzel See story about The Voice firings from The New York Post
