Has Mel Karmazin drunk the M&A Kool-Aid?

Although Sirius Satellite Radio CEO Mel Karmazin told an audience of a few hundred dealmakers at The Deal's Tech Confidential Convergence 2.0 Conference that he was not interested in merging with rival XM, it seems after five months he may have been swayed by the pundits telling him to seek a deal. In a recent interview in SmartMoney, Karmazin admits he's always been open to a merger. However, he again reiterated the same regulatory concerns that he shared with The Deal's Richard Morgan, but instead of calling those hurdles insurmountable, he told SmartMoney, they are manageable.
