In the last week, high-profile venture capital firms Benchmark Capital and New Enterprise Associates have inserted 200 million quarters into two video game developers: Red 5 Studios and Real Time Worlds Ltd.

Yahoo! stood on the sidelines as the two biggest Web 2.0 deals went down (YouTube and MySpace). Speculation was that Yahoo! was looking to the college kids' social community of choice, Facebook, as its answer to the deals its competitors closed. That speculation seems to have been correct according to leaked documents TechCrunch has obtained.
