A-Rod to join Hicks' latest venture?

Let’s connect some dots. On Tuesday, Tom Hicks agreed to acquire the Liverpool football club in Britain for $429 million. The same day, the New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez hinted that he might exercise his right to opt out of his contract after next season. As owner of the Texas Rangers, Hicks signed Rodriguez to that contract—the richest in baseball history. A-Rod has already changed positions once, shifting from shortstop to third base when he was traded to New York. It wouldn’t be hard for him to switch again, from infield to, say, midfield. Be gentle with him, Liverpool supporters; Alex is a troubled soul.—Jeffrey Kanige
