Good news, students are narcissists

Finally, we get some good news from the world of U.S. education. According to the Associated Press, a study led by a psychologist at the University of San Diego found that “[t]oday’s college students are more narcissistic and self-centered than their predecessors.” The researchers note that narcissists are “more likely to … lack emotional warmth, and to exhibit game-playing, dishonesty and over-controlling and violent behaviors.” So we may not be producing enough scientists and engineers, but we will certainly be well stocked with hedge fund managers.—Jeffrey Kanige
