Is Costco a buyout candidate?

The answer to the question of whether Costco Wholesale Corp. is a buyout candidate depends upon whom you ask. The writers at Blogging Stocks seem to think the warehouse club is a possible target. However, Costco failed to make The Deal's list of 15 top candidates. Not only that, but so did perennial favorite Home Depot Inc. Instead, some of their top rivals — namely Lowe's Cos. and Federated Department Stores Inc. — made the list of 15 likely targets.—Matthew Wurtzel
