Swiss mining giant Xstrata hired Macquarie Bank’s Richard Gannon and Scott Murray and TD Securities’ Ewan Mason for financial advice in its $4 billion bid for Canada’s LionOre Mining. William Ainley and Kevin West of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg and Julian Makin and Mark Rawlinson of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer are providing legal counsel.

The target is being advised by Barry Weir of J.P. Morgan and is receiving counsel from Graham Gow and Ian Michael McCarthy Tetrault.
