Pirates of Houston: Dead Man's Desk

  Share     E-Mail    Discussion    Print Story

Of all the esoteric things you can find on eBay, the most recent addition is the desk of the late Ken Lay, the former chairman of Enron Corp. Saving Animals Across Borders, a charity that helps provide cats and dogs with vetrinarian serices, is auctioning off the desks of not only Lay, but also Jeffrey Skilling and other former Enron employees involved in the Houston energy trader's collapse and scandal. Each desk has a minimum bid of $25,000, and as of 3:45 pm EDT, there is one bidder for Lay's desk, but none for Skilling's desk. Interested bidders have until Saturday, March 24, at 10:45 pm EDT to place a bid for either desk. —Matthew Wurtzel
