Lee Iacocca speaks

  Share     E-Mail    Discussion    Print Story

LeeIacocca.jpgThe 82-year-old former Chrysler chief is out promoting his new book, "Where Have All the Leaders Gone?" In it he says Daimler-Benz's acquisition of Chrysler made him "sick," and he tells Fortune magazine in an upcoming article that the German automaker is "throwing us to the curb" by trying to shed its U.S. division now. Clever automotive imagery, perhaps, but he doesn't offer too much more insight on the potential divestiture. Iacocca does, however, label Kirk Kerkorian, who has offered $4.5 billion for Chrysler via his Tracinda investment firm, as a "gambler." —Olaf de Senerpont Domis
