Just in: BCE receives call from Cerberus

BCE Inc. announced Wednesday that Cerberus Capital Management LP and a group of Canadian investors have contacted the telecom about a possible leveraged buyout. Montreal-based BCE, Canada’s largest telecom, also has drawn interest from a group including Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. BCE expects to complete its strategic review in the third quarter. —Chris Nolter
