Just in: Carlyle to shop Insight

Less than two years after its leveraged buyout of Insight Communications Co., Carlyle Group is considering a sale of the New York-based cable operator, according to sources in the industry.

The move follows Insight's agreement last month to unwind a joint venture in the Midwest with Comcast Corp. that will simplify the company's internal structure but will also increase future programming costs. Individuals familiar with the process said the company has tapped Morgan Stanley and Waller Capital Corp. to shop the cabler.
