VC updates from Aerohive, Action Engine and Desktone

A few interesting VC fundings of note Monday morning:

  • Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers has led a new second round of funding for upstart wireless networking systems developer Aerohive Networks Inc. The Santa Clara, Calif., company's $20 million second round also included Northern Light Venture Capitaland Lightspeed Venture Partners. The two firms had previously supplied $4 million to Aerohive between early and mid-2006.
  • Mobile content technology company Action Engine Corp. raised $20 million. Baker Capital of New York led the round, joined by longtime backers Northwest Venture Associates and the Spangler Group. The new round brings total investment in the company to about $65 million since its formation.
  • Desktop virtualization software maker Desktone Inc. raised a $17 million war chest in a first institutional round of financing led by SoftBank Capital and Highland Capital Partners
