Another ex-Ford exec to kick PAG tires

Another former Ford Motor Co. executive, Sir Nick Scheele, who was president and COO from 2001 to 2005, has reportedly joined the bidding war for the company's Jaguar and Land Rover divisions, according to the Financial Times. Scheele, who managed the two British nameplates from 1999 to 2001, is advising buyout firm Ripplewood Holdings LLC, which reportedly is hoping Scheele's inside knowledge will give it an edge over rivals, according to the FT. However, rival bidder One Equity Partners also is relying on an insider: former CEO Jacques Nasser, who ran Ford from 1999 to 2001. Other likely bidders include Chrysler LLC's new owner Cerberus Capital Management LP, fellow buyout firm TPG, Indian car maker Tata Motors Ltd. and Indian truck maker Mahindra & Mahindra. —Matthew Wurtzel
