Mel Gibson to endorse tire IPO

  Share     E-Mail    Discussion    Print Story

If reports that OAO Gazprom considered a Dow Jones bid weren't strange enough, how about the news that actor Mel Gibson is in Singapore to endorse the IPO plans of Malaysian tire recycler Green Rubber Global? Parent company Petra Group reportedly is planning to list the unit in London. Evidently, Gibson is a minority shareholder in Green Rubber, according to a report in local paper The Malaysian Star. Green Rubber has developed a clean method using ultrasound to recycle rubber from old tires — current methods involve incinerating tires. —Matthew Wurtzel
