Wednesday, two dozen protesters from the New York chapter of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or Acorn, and a group called the Working Families Party interrupted Dow Jones & Co.'s annual Private Equity Analyst Conference at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel where a ballroom full of dealmakers and investors were waiting to hear a presentation by Carlyle Group co-founder David Rubenstein. Evidently the protest didn't faze Rubenstein, according to the New York Post. Nor did it faze the Dow Jones reporters covering the event. Free coverage of the conference is available on The Wall Street Journal's Deal Journal blog, which makes no reference to the protest. Instead, lighter fair was offered such as a story about how, for the first time ever, there was a line for the women's room at the conference. —Matthew Wurtzel See story from The New York Post CategoriesPrivate capital video
