GM may kick truck business to Navistar

GMC TopKick TruckDuring an earnings call, truckmaker Navistar International Corp. confirmed it's in talks to buy General Motors Corp.'s medium truck business. Rumors of a deal between the two surfaced in May in The Flint (Mich.) Journal, which noted that Navistar officials were seen at the GM facility that produce GMC Kodiak and Chevrolette TopKick commercial trucks. However, the story was overshadowed by Cerberus Capital Management LP's purchase of the Chrysler Group, pushing the rumors to the back pages of the few papers to follow up on the Flint Journal story. — Matthew Wurtzel
