Nardelli to kill Chrysler products

As expected, Cerberus Capital Management LP and Bob Nardelli wasted no time in choosing models to cull from Chrysler LLC's product line.

The first three models on the chopping block, according to The Detroit News' unnamed sources, are the Dodge Magnum stationwagon, Chrysler Pacifica crossover and the indescribable Chrysler PT Cruiser. The list is expected to be formally announced soon, the paper reported.

Surprisingly, the news has auto enthusiasts at Auto Blog enthused by the idea. Obviously enthusiasts found these models distasteful, but evidently so did the greater public because sales for some were off by almost one-third for the first nine months of the year. — Matthew Wurtzel
