London soccer clubs Fulham, Reading and Arsenal may be unfamiliar to most Americans, but a growing number of U.S. dealmakers are acquainting themselves with these and other franchises. U.S. investors already have acquired some of Europe's most storied teams such as Liverpool and Manchester United, and experts say, according to a Reuters report, that the trend will only continue.

The report says among some of the most prime targets that Americans may want to consider are London clubs such as Fulham, Reading, Charlton, Tottenham and Arsenal. The attraction for these clubs is their location in London, which has become a trendy destination for wealthy international investors. It also doesn't hurt that revenue for European clubs are expected to increase due to the building of new stadiums.
As for American soccer in the U.S. as an investment, it has a long way to go compared to its European counterpart. Professional soccer in the U.S. is probably where American professional football is in Europe, and that's basically in its infancy. — Gerald Magpily
