In addition to several items to be sorely missed from pop culture (Bob Barker as host of The Price is Right, The Sopranos and the McDonald's McRib sandwich), some were bankruptcies The Deal has closely tracked this year, including: Topps Meat Co., which was forced into bankruptcy and then liquidation after one of the largest beef recalls in history, and furniture companies Bombay Co. and Levitz Furniture, which The Deal's Shanon D. Murray pointed out Dec. 14 were among the mass of retailers -- who sold everything from mattresses to building and furnishing materials to raw goods -- that felt the effects of the housing downturn. -- Carolyn Murphy
